Chocolate bowls are fun and can be used for quite a number of purposes, include things like holding candies and berries, or more chocolates! The best thing about these balloon-chocolate bowls is that they are quite easy to make and can be created in bulk with great ease. Ingredients to use are:
250g (dark) quality chocolate
And here are the steps that need to be followed concisely to make the best balloon-bowls. These steps are:
The first step is to assemble all the necessary ingredients that are to be required when making these balloons. This includes all of the utensils to be used too.. You’ll need to have a medium-sized clean bowl, as well as the balloon that is going to be used in making the chocolate balloon. There is great freedom when it comes to choosing the balloon that you are to use – different colours and sizes of the balloon can lead to different end results. Choose a colour that complements the colour and even the taste of the chocolate that you are going to use.
The second step involves filling the balloon with air. When using more than one balloon, all the balloons need to be filled with air equally so that there is none that will be bigger than the others. Usually, the best size to fill the balloon is about 15-20cm (6-8 inches) in circumference. Once the balloons are filled with air, they should then be tied off with a knot so that they don’t deflate. The balloon(s) should then be sprayed using a vegetable spray so that it becomes easy to remove the chocolate bowls.
- The third step involves melting the chocolate you are going to use. Melting should be done using a double-boiler (bain marie) or a microwave. Be careful so as to not to overcook the chocolate by overheating, especially when using a microwave. Once the chocolate has melted accordingly, it is then very important to allow the chocolate about 15 minutes to cool off.
Once the chocolate has cooled off, you should dip the balloon in the warm chocolate. The balloon should be held at an angle so that it becomes easy to tilt the balloons on all sides. Always ensure that the chocolate is evenly spread out on the balloon’s surface. After the chocolate is well spread on the balloon, you should take the balloon out and allow the excess chocolate to drip off.
The chocolate-dipped balloons should then be placed on the chocolate circle. This should be done cautiously and then the balloons should be left to cool off in a cool dry place. Always ensure that you avoid keeping the balloons dipped in chocolate in a room with a warm temperature. This is so as to avert the possibility of the chocolate melting and ruining the whole process!
In order to lower the likelihood of balloons popping violently and spoiling the bowl, it’s advisable to use a pair of scissors as opposed to a pin when removing the balloon. You should also ensure that the bowls are kept in a very cool dry place before they are used.
